"Bonds" opens with enigmatic sky ninja with the ability to control stone monsters attacking Hidden Leaf Village. Naruto Uzumaki and his allies learn during the fight that the assailants are relics from the Sky Country, which was devastated in the last ninja conflict. The Sky Country's citizens carry deep anger toward the Hidden Leaf Village for their perceived role in the disaster.
