The wizarding community is in disarray at the start of the movie as Ralph Fiennes's character, Lord Voldemort, grows more powerful. Harry is enlisted by Michael Gambon's character Albus Dumbledore to learn vital information concerning Voldemort's Horcruxes, which are artifacts that hold fragments of his soul and must be destroyed in order to vanquish him.
