The story opens with a young Diana growing up on the island of Themyscira, which is home to Amazonian warrior women only. Diana gains remarkable martial skills under the tutelage of her mother, Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), and her aunt, General Antiope (Robin Wright). When Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), a World War I pilot, crashes on Themyscira, he brings news of the fighting going on outside her tranquil life.
