In the first segment of the epilogue, which is helmed by Francis Lawrence, Katniss assumes the role of the Mockingjay, the rebel leader. As the districts rebel against the Capitol, Katniss and her allies try to motivate and energize the rebels. The movie looks at the effects of war, the influence of propaganda, and Katniss's personal suffering as she struggles with her place in the greater struggle.
