The movie centers on Dr. Stephen Strange, a neurosurgeon who is smart and conceited and whose life dramatically changes following an automobile tragedy. His hands are badly damaged in the incident, making it impossible for him to pursue a career in medicine. Strange uses unusual measures after running out of standard medical procedures in his desperation to reclaim his former life.
