The previous movie's events are picked up in the film very soon after. Neo, Morpheus (Laurence Fishburne), and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) carry on their battle against the robots that have taken humankind into slavery. Neo is becoming more and more skilled in the Matrix, but he still has trouble grasping his place in the bigger picture and the future.
