The protagonist of the tale is Jason Statham's character, Luke Wright, a former elite agent who, following a personal tragedy, descends into poverty and emotional instability. He meets Mei (Catherine Chan), a young Chinese girl who is wanted by the Russian Mafia and the Chinese Triads for important information. Luke decides to defend Mei and make sure she is safe, utilizing his abilities to combat the criminal groups that are after her.
