The movie centers on an anonymous narrator (Edward Norton), a white-collar worker who has sleeplessness and overall life unhappiness. To get over his insomnia, the narrator goes to support groups for different illnesses. He meets Brad Pitt's character Tyler Durden, a soap salesman, while on a business trip, and the two strike up an odd bond.
