The adopted brother of Thor, Loki, joins forces with the Chitauri Army and travels from Asgard to Midgard using the Tesseract's powers in order to plan the invasion of Earth and ascend to the throne. In order to save the planet from the formidable Loki and the alien invasion, Nick Fury, the director of S.H.I.E.L.D., launches Project Avengers. Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, Steve Rogers, also known as Captain America, Bruce Banner, also known as The Hulk, Thor, Natasha Romanoff, also known as Black Widow, and Clint Barton, also known as Hawkeye, team up with these heroes.
