In the post-apocalyptic universe of the narrative, blind and extremely sensitive monsters have invaded Earth, hunting and attacking anything that makes noise. In order to keep the dangerous monsters away from them, the Abbott family—father Lee (John Krasinski), mother Evelyn (Emily Blunt), and their kids Regan (Millicent Simmonds), Marcus (Noah Jupe), and Beau (Cade Woodward)—must go about their daily lives in utter silence.
